PIRATE BOYS GOLF FINISH FIFTH AT 27-HOLE FERGUS FALLS INVITE

The Crookston Pirate Boys golf team finished fifth place out of five teams with a 27-hole score of 569 in the two-day Fergus Falls Otter Invitational at Pebble Lake Golf Course in Fergus Falls.

The first round on Friday was cut short because of the weather, so they finished the first round of 18 on Saturday morning and played another nine holes. Orono won the meet with a 465, which was five strokes better than the host team, Fergus Falls.

Crookston brought five golfers as senior Brannon Tangquist stayed back because he is attending prom on Saturday.

Crookston was led by Garret Fischer with a 121, which was good for eighth place overall. Garrett had three birdies and 11 pars in his round, which was 12 over par.

The brother duo of Ashton (Senior) and Evan (Sophomore) tuned in 149’s. Ashton had two pars and 12 bogies as the best scores in his round, while Evan carded one birdie, three pars, and six bogies for his best scores.

Tate Hamre shot a 150 while turning in four pars and 12 bogies for his best scores.

David Dauksavage shot a 155 while carding two pars and 11 bogies for his best scores.
