CROOKSTON CITY COUNCIL TO MEET MONDAY NIGHT

The Crookston City Council will meet on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. inside the City Hall Council Chambers. There will be two presentations given and one mayoral proclamation. The first presentation will be from the Crookston Visitors Bureau (CVB) as they give their Annual Report, and the second will be a presentation of the Years of Service Awards for the City of Crookston. The mayoral proclamation will be proclaiming Highland Elementary School as a “Best Elementary School” for 2021.

The Consent Agenda includes approving the City Council meeting minutes from the November 22 meeting, as well as Crookston bills and disbursements in the amount of $140,134.47. The Consent Agenda will also include a resolution authorizing the preparation of the preliminary engineers report for 2022 city street improvements.

The regular agenda will include a resolution to appoint Darin Selzler as the new Crookston Police Chief once current Police Chief Paul Biermaier retires. The next resolution on the agenda will be to approve a partial payment to the Polk County Highway Department for the project on Fisher Avenue. There will then be resolutions to approve participation in the state of Minnesota Opioid Litigation settlements, and another to approve an Eagles Small Cities Development Loan. The final item on the agenda will be to approve City Administrator Amy Finch’s annual salary.

There will also be a special closed session held before the City Council meeting, to discuss City Administrator Amy Finch’s performance review, and annual salary. The regular City Council meeting is open to the public, and all are invited to attend.
