CROOKSTON CITY COUNCIL, WAYS & MEANS COMMITTEE TO HOLD MEETINGS MONDAY

The Crookston Ways & Means Committee will hold a closed meeting Monday, November 25 at 6:00 p.m. for negotiations in the conference room at City Hall.  That will be followed by the City Council meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers and the regularly scheduled Ways & Means Committee meeting immediately following City Council.

The consent agenda for the City Council meeting includes approving the November 12 meeting minutes, approving bills and disbursements in the amount of $407,726.76, accepting a donation from Otter Tail Power Company for an LED light event at the Crookston Fire Hall, and approving a Violent Crime Enforcement Team Grant.  Also included are resolutions to award bids for a project to switch to LED light at various city buildings.  The resolutions are to award bids to RBB Electric for City Hall ($5,987.00), the Crookston Fire Hall ($3,330.00), the Crookston Airport ($3,130.00), and Crookston Street Shop ($2,667.00).  Additional resolutions are to award bids to Valley Electric for the Crookston Police Station ($7,395.00), Crookston Park Shop ($4,095.00), and Crookston Water Plant ($2,995.00).

Public hearings will be held for proposed street improvements and for unpaid code enforcement and utility charges.  Following the completion of those public hearings that resolutions for each of the eight public hearings to adopt and assess for the street improvement projects and unpaid code enforcement and utility charges.  There will also be a continuation of public hearings from July 23 for Otter Tail Power Company and Red Lake Electric Cooperative.  Those will be followed by the first reading of the Otter Tail Power Company Franchise Fee Ordinance No. 82 and the first reading of the Red Lake Electric Cooperative Franchise Fee Ordinance No. 83. 

The Ways & Means Committee agenda includes approving the October 28 and November 12 meeting reports.  A request to purchase a one-ton truck for the Parks and Recreation Department.  There will also be a discussion on the 2020 levy and the five-year capital improvement plan.
