Subway in Crookston to Close For Six Months For Re-construction

The Subway Restaurant in Crookston will serve its last sandwich for the next four to six months on Tuesday night in preparation for the demolition of the building and will be followed by construction of a new Subway building.  Staff will begin prep work Wednesday morning with the removal of equipment and the building is scheduled to be bulldozed on Monday, December 3.   “Tomorrow at the end of the day we’ll be closing up and leveling the current place,” said Crookston Subway owner Neil Ebeling. “We’ll have a new Subway look when we open back up by June 1, along with the new Subway of the future design, and a new location on the lot with better parking and a drive-thru to better serve the customers.”
The temporary closing of Subway comes on the heels of several other Crookston restaurants closing, limiting choices for eating out in town.  This will be the fourth restaurant to close its doors at least temporarily this year including Cofe` which reopened under new ownership at the beginning of the month after being closed nearly two months.  The other restaurants that closed their doors this year are El Jaripeo which has been closed since a fire on May 20 and Arby’s, whose former location is currently for sale after it closed suddenly on July 23.
