SPORTS FEEVER – August 25, 2022

SPORTS FEEVER – August 25, 2022 – Written by Chris Fee (chrisjfee@yahoo.com)

What a past couple weeks it has been for Tiffany and I and our family!  Two weekends ago, our oldest daughter, Alyssa got engaged at Palisades Park on the North Shore to a guy we both love and will be a great addition to our family.  His family is also a great bunch of people so we can’t wait.

Last weekend, our youngest daughter not only knocked the socks off of Tiffany and I, but the entire community with her win at the 2022 Miss Crookston Pageant.  The only one that heard Macy sing before the pageant, in our family, was my wife.  So when she sang and played her ukulele I was blown away at how good she did.  We aren’t proud of her because she won, we are proud of her because she did something out of her comfort zone, had a blast doing it and the fact she won and received a bunch of scholarship money too is a huge bonus!
As of now, Macy is going to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls to either be a lawyer or teacher and coach.

And on Monday, I had my eye surgery to attach my torn retina and I am pleased to say the doctor said everything went great and he was able to re-attach my retina and it went as well as he had hoped.  So that was great news.  Laying on your stomach to allow the eye to heal (with an air bubble in your eye for two weeks might drive me crazy though!!!!   We will see.  I am on day three already and my back is killing me.

Thanks to everybody that has congratulated us on our daughter’s exciting events and for all the prayers that were sent my way the last week as well.   The people in Crookston and NW Minnesota are truly the best people in the world.

This week’s column is a little shorter for obvious reasons, but we have the rosters from the Crookston Pirate Falls sports teams.  It looks like most numbers are steady or up for all but girls soccer so that is some good news!
